Our first natural instinct when we get rejected is to reflect inward and ask the seemingly never-ending question “Why not me?”. What we often fail to remember — is that we are unique. You are unique in your own way, as am I… and so is your Cat. We all have certain personalities, desires and more importantly, we all have our own unique JOURNEYS.
Just because you faced a certain rejection somewhere does not mean that you are inadequate in any way at all.
Being raised in a society where technologies such as Television, the Internet and the biggest of all — social media provide constant stimuli into our conscious and sub-conscious minds about how we should look, walk, talk, behave, dress and whether we have achieved certain milestones by a certain age, does something to us in a way that when we fail (in any circumstance) to “measure up” to any single one of these so-called standards, we automatically feel inferior.
We are now just so used to being mean to ourselves, harsh on our minds, bodies and souls that we often don’t realize when we’ve reached a point of exhaustion — commonly known as burnout. One of the most common culprits that brings about this exhaustion is called overthinking.
In order for me to make my point clear, you must first understand that overthinking often leads to negativity — add to that the immense pressure to the Human mind (which after all is a muscle), you get a situation where you feel tremendously exhausted and worn-out.
When you feel exhausted and worn-out, you automatically feel demoralized. Are you now seeing the point that I am trying to make?
If we remove overthinking from the equation, we now allow our minds to drive on for a few more miles per-day on average. We increase our MPG.
It’s just like having all that junk in your car’s trunk that once emptied, your car springs back upward (and your suspension is also happy).
We often get so bogged down in this vicious cycle that we often don’t even realize that we’re in it! The moment we do realize it — half the battle is won.
Every thing that happens in life, happens for a very good reason — often we may not know that reason, but more often we see the reasons with time.
We must work hard, study hard, fight the negativity with positivity and pull ourselves up every single day. We must be disciplined, motivated & dedicated. Above all, we must NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER QUIT and never stop working hard because striving for the best in life builds character. Character that will help you make your life better and help make this world a better place. One person at a time.
